Crossing the Tasman Sea to Milford Sound

Leaving Tasmania meant leaving Australia. It was a warm, welcoming country and though we knew there was great things to come, it was a little sad saying goodbye.

Crossing the Tasman Sea wasn’t the easiest journey we’ve had. The rolling waves were large and though we were down near the waterline and in the centre of the ship, we still felt the motion on the two day crossing. Anita was motion sick, I had something gastro-intestinal. There were lined bags on every stairwell, and food service protocols had changed.

It was worth it. We got to witness the majesty of Milford Sound.

The walls are steep, and the sun came out just enough to remind us how lucky we were.

As we visited Dusty Fjord and Doubtful Fjord, the winds picked up and the skies were greyer. We were cosy in our cruise ship.
