In this Year of the Mitten, I’ve occasionally found that I don’t have enough contrast when choosing a pair of yarns.  Swatching has never satisfied me.  I’m impatient and want to get on with a project.  Yes, I know that swatching helps save mistakes, helps determine tension and therefore needle size. Even so, I’ve been looking for a solution BEFORE I pick up my needles.

Finally, I found it — my phone converts a colour picture into a black and white!

I can take a quick snap of potential pairings, convert them to black and white, and make my decision.
