Fri. Jan. 31: Wellington

Wellington offers visitors a great many things. It’s a beautiful harbour and the city has a thriving Central Business District.

Its museum is on the harbour, in a gentrified area. The feature exhibit, for me, was a hand knit Dim Sum.

Even the soy sauce was knitted.

The fibre artist is a woman of Chinese descent who learned to cook and knit from her grandmother.

After a Black Doris Plum sorbet, we took the funicular up to the Botanical Garden.

Along the roadsides and in gardens that we visited, there were beds of agapanthus.

There were also many plants that are unusual to us. We discovered them as we walked down the hill through the gardens.
