We started our last day in Melbourne by visiting the Victoria Market. It’s a multi-faceted market spread over several square blocks. Many food vendors had cute themed trailers.

One of my favourite stalls featured dog toys that resembled food. The shrimp were bigger than my hand. The colours were realistic.

Next, Morris and Sons, a major yarn retailer with its own brand of yarn. When we were there, there was a group of American-sounding women on a tour. They fondled yarn, then had a lesson in either knitting or crochet.
I didn’t buy anything because they didn’t have the weight of yarn I wanted in stock. Most of their yarn was DK or chunky weight. I prefer something finer.
Still, I was glad we went.

The final stop was a gelato stop in Chinatown. We wanted soursop and pandan. We chose a jungle fruit one instead of the soursop. The skeptics server asked if we’d had soursop before. It’s a beloved flavour usually available in Asia, and hard to pass up.
We waited at our bus stop a very long time, and were eventually told a Palestine rally in the city core disrupted all service. They were due to resume service a kilometre away.
We took turns panicking about our ability to recover our luggage and get to the ship on time. Our taxi driver did a great job and we were fine. The check in agent went above and beyond with us. Anita had trouble finding her e-authorization to get into New Zealand, and the check in agent walked us around to terminal to all the known wifi signal spots. Phew.
